Your Story:  Stoney Laine was my first horse. I was a "city girl" that grew up always wishing for a pony. Everyone made fun of me when I blew out my birthday candles and wished for a horse. My bike was not a bike, but a horse and had reins on the handlebars. In December 1981 Dennis, (My husband) came home from work and asked if I would be interested in working at a stable and riding horses and doing chores. I was so excited and couldn't wait to go. We went to Dr. Gerhert Tonn's, Lynnhaven Ranch. Dr. Tonn met us at the drive and started showing us around. There were so many horses. We went into the barn and saw all the horses in the stalls. One of the men working there brought out a beautiful sorrel gelding. Dr. Tonn said this man had bought this horse for his wife. I thought, what a lucky lady. Then Dr. Tonn reached in his coat pocket and pulled out a card with the name Donna on it. I thought that was funny, my name is Donna, too. Well, then I realized everyone was looking at me. It Was For ME. That is how Stoney came into our family. I didn't realize how much my life would change from that moment on.

In January 2007 Stoney gave our seven week old grandson his first horse ride. I cherish those memories and pictures so much.

On February 4, 2007, we lost Stoney after a very short illness. Really do miss him so much. He was 32 years old and he was part of our family for 25 years. Yes, he was part of the family.
