Welcome to The 2013 Wichita Eagle's Reader's Choice contest! Last year, more than 8,000 of you let us know your favorite places to spend time working, eating, drinking, shopping, running and playing. For almost 12 months your Winners and Favorites have been crowing about being named the best of the best. Now, it's a new year, and time for the winners to defend their titles and time for everyone else to try and knock `em off! We're even sweetening the pot as one lucky voter will win $250! Good luck and thanks for voting!
There are two ways to play:
Simply go to www.EagleReadersChoice.com between July 26 and August 5 (by 5pm) to enter. At least 30 categories will need to be legibly filled out with legitimate business names in order to be qualified as an entry. Each registered user may enter a selection once per day during the 10 day contest period. Each day resets at midnight.
Print ballots will be available in our special ballot section in the Friday July 26th issue of The Wichita Eagle. Original copies of the paper ballot can be filled out and dropped off at our front counter between 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday or mailed to: The Wichita Eagle - Attn: Readers Choice 825 East Douglas Wichita, Kansas 67201-2458. Deadline for dropping off the ballots is Monday August 5th, 2013 at 5pm. If you mail your ballots they must be post marked on or before August 5th, 2013. Please note, at least 30 categories will need to be legibly filled out with legitimate business names in order to be qualified as an entry.
Yes. Voters can vote and be entered for the drawing once per day, every day, as long as it is still within the voting period. Go to www.EagleReadersChoice.com to vote daily.
Yes. One random eligible voter will receive $250.
Also for businesses - the top voted business in each category that receives a reasonable amount of votes will be declared the WINNER and will receive a plaque and mention in the Readers' Choice Results section in September. In those categories that secure enough votes, businesses that receive a significant percentage but fall short of winning will be declared a FAVORITE - these businesses will also receive recognition in our results issue along with a certificate suitable for framing. Recognition may not be provided if a category does not receive a reasonable amount of votes.
You must be 18 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law. Click on the Official Rules tab for complete rules and information.
